The Cost Of Laser Liposuction
The latest in surgical fat removal or lipoplasty is laser liposuction. The use of a laser has several advantages over the traditional method which uses a needle to suck out the fat cells under your skin.
The surgeon uses a cannula to remove the fat under your skin. It is inserted under local anesthesia and as soon as the heat of the laser has melted the fat cells they get removed through the cannula.
A short laser liposuction can be finished within a half hour. However, if you want to remove a larger amount of fat or if you want a laser liposuction on larger areas or different areas, then it can take up to two hours until finished.
Depending on how long the surgery lasts, how much fat was removed and on how many different areas of your body it was applied, the costs can range between $1,000 for smaller areas to $10,000 for an extensive fat removal surgery.
With laser lipo you can remove fat from many different areas of your body. Most popular areas are the stomach area and the buttocks. But it also works for the arms, the back or the thighs.
The use of the needle in the traditional liposuction causes more damage to the surrounding cells than the laser. The needle sucks the cells out of the body while the laser is melting the cells.
Lipoplasty, liposculpture, suction lipectomy are different names for the surgical fat removal technique but the laser lipo is increasingly popular. Every year more of these surgeries are performed.
Liposuction surgery is performed more than 100,000 a year and has proven to be a safe way of surgical fat removal. Laser liposuction is a new technique but is also known to be very safe today. Like with any other surgery there are always risks. Another risk also lies in the abuse of the technique. It is not a weight loss strategy and shouldn’t be used as one.
If you want to remove less than ten pounds than you have the greatest chances of success. Keep in mind that the risk increases with the amount of fat you want to get rid with laser liposuction. The problem here is skin elasticity, blood loss and issue damage. Removing huge amounts of fat can even be fatal.
Talk with your surgeon and clearly limit the amount of fat you want to have removed. The smaller the amount the better the results and the smaller the risks.
